David's lived with T1D since 1982, and been active as a lived-experience advocate in Australia and around the world since 2017.
He started out documenting many issues and experiences (and still does) on his Bionic Wookiee blog.
Today he also works directly in diabetes research (primarily but not limited to automated insulin delivery systems) through Nascence Biomed and with the Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute.

Adam Lamendola is a CDE with 20 years of clinical experience delivering client-centered education, care, and support to children and young people with diabetes. He has a passion for harnessing new technologies to deliver safe and high quality diabetes care and to improve the outcomes and experiences for his patients.
Adam’s diverse experience spans both hospital and community settings across Australia and internationally. His volunteer work in India, Cambodia and the Solomon Islands has supported local health professionals implement culturally sensitive and sustainable programs to improve access to essential diabetes care.

Anthony Zimmermann has been working as a senior staff Specialist at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) since 2003. He has been the Head of Diabetes and Endocrine Services, NALHN since 2013. His unit was awarded a SA Health Award in 2017 for Enhancing Hospital Care for his project titled, "Moving Diabetes Outpatient Care into the 21st Century" and again in 2018 for Excellence and Innovation in Aboriginal Health for a project titled "Integrating Care - Closing the Gap on Diabetes". He has a Clinical Associate Professor title in the Department of Medicine at the University of Adelaide and is an enthusiastic mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees, earning citations for excellence in clinical teaching. He has been a Principal Investigator for the Australasian Diabetes Data Network (ADDN3) and more recently Scientific Advisory Committee member of the Australian Diabetes Clinical Quality Registry (ADCQR). He is an enthusiastic cyclist and Life Member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation cycling club.
