Allie Carew is a senior PhD student in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Her research focuses on preventing and treating cardiometabolic diseases through epidemiological, qualitative, and patient-oriented research methods. To date, she has published over fifteen peer-reviewed articles in diabetes, cardiology, and nutrition journals. She has received several prestigious awards for her studies, including a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Doctoral Award, Killam Award, Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship, Heart and Stroke Foundation Bright Red Student Research Mission Award, and a Loran Award.
