Biography
Distinguished Professor Levett-Jones is a world-leading researcher who leads the Empathy Initiative research group and the Planetary Health Collaborative. She is ranked as one of the world’s top 1% of nursing scientists by Stanford University and has written ten books and over 250 journal publications.

Biography
Dr Elizabeth Holmes-Truscott (PhD, health psychology) is a Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (a partnership for better health between Diabetes Victoria and Deakin University). Elizabeth leads a varied program of applied research examining psychosocial aspects of diabetes. Her work currently focuses on: a) understanding and addressing diabetes stigma; b) understanding and reducing barriers to optimal health and self-care behaviours , and; c) the promotion of person-reported outcome assessment tools alongside biomedical markers. Elizabeth is Behavioural Platform lead for the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI; 2022-2025), co-lead of the international consensus on ending diabetes stigma and discrimination, and coordinates the Diabetes MILES – Australia collaborative. Elizabeth is a journal editor for 'Diabetic Medicine', and an advisory member to The Obesity Collective stigma expert group as well as The diaTribe Foundation (US) dStigmatize Research Group.

Biography
Dr Ashley Ng is a diabetes advocate, a diabetes researcher and accredited practising dietitian. Her lived experience has led to her passion in consumer and community involvement in research and healthcare improvement. Ashley's areas of interest in research include supporting young adults with diabetes during life transitions, digital health solutions in diabetes care and community engagement, including peer support.

Biography
Dr Giuliana Murfet, a Bullwinkel Scholar, is a Nurse Practitioner Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania and a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the UTS. She also works clinically as a Nurse Practitioner in diabetes and bariatric care. Her research spans co-design and evaluation of rural and regional models of care for diabetes in pregnancy, paediatric diabetes, obesity management in type 2 diabetes, and digital inpatient care. Her current research focuses on strengthening healthcare workforce capability for future diabetes care needs, including the development of a national capability framework to inform health professional education in diabetes. Dr Murfet is a Fellow and past President of the ADEA and a CDE. She chairs the Medical Educational and Scientific Advisory Council, and Health Professional Advisory Council for Diabetes Australia, and is a Steering Committee member of the Living Evidence for Diabetes Consortium
