Biography

Aniruddh completed a Bachelor of Nursing at Charles Sturt University in 2016 and developed an interest in diabetes management while working in Alice Springs. Aniruddh is a research nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, focusing on type 1 diabetes prevention and coordinating clinical trials in diabetes and endocrinology. Aniruddh completed a Master of Public Health from Monash University in 2022 and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education from James Cook University in 2023. Aniruddh has a keen interest in chronic disease prevention.

Karen Pritchard is a dedicated Registered Nurse and Intensive Care Nurse with extensive experience across clinical and educational roles. Holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, she has worked as an ICU nurse, first aid trainer, and school nurse. Now focused on diabetes and endocrinology research, Karen is also a qualified Diabetes Educator. She is a passionate advocate for clinical research trials, aiming to enhance prevention strategies and treatment options through evidence-based practice and improved understanding of chronic disease management.

Biography

Candice Hall is a Research Manager at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, leading clinical trials in diabetes and endocrinology for almost 15 years. Candice is also co-project manager of the Australasian Type 1 Diabetes Immunotherapy Collaborative (ATIC), supporting clinical trials and pre-clinical research on immune-modifying treatments for type 1 diabetes.

Biography

John Wentworth is an endocrinologist at Royal Melbourne Hospital and research fellow at St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research. He runs the Type1Screen islet autoantibody screening program open to Australians with a family history of type 1 diabetes and is the clinical trials lead for the Australasian T1D Immunotherapy Collaborative (ATIC). In collaboration with Australian and international colleagues he is working to develop cost-effective ways to diagnose type 1 diabetes early and ensure timely intervention to preserve beta cell function and delay progression to insulin dependence
