Dr Sara Mustafa is a Research Fellow with a background in dietetics at the University of Waikato in Aotearoa New Zealand. Her work spans diabetes, maternal health, and public health with a strong equity lens to advance health outcomes across diverse populations.

Biography
Professor Simpson is holds a BSc (Hons) and a PhD from the University of Sydney and has been the Professor of Biochemistry, University of Technology Sydney since 2002. Her main research interest is the gene therapy of T1D focussing on the production of surrogate β-cells primarily from liver.

Nan Su is a PhD candidate in at The University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on SGLT2 expression and cardioprotective mechanisms in diabetogenic iPSC-models. Nan has presented at multiple conferences and was awarded Best Poster in Basic Science Discipline at ACMD 2024 .

Biography
Dr Tuch is a translational endocrinologist pursuing a cell therapy for type 1 diabetes using stem cell differentiated islets without the need for systemic immunosuppression. He is adjunct Professor at Monash University and is a founder of the NSW Stem Cell Network.

Biography
Cathy Wei is an Honours graduate from the University of Sydney, where she conducted research on macrophage polarization and diabetic wound healing under the supervision of Prof. Stephen Twigg, Prof. Anthony Weiss and Dr. Danqing Min. Her work explores how circulating factors influence monocyte/macrophage behavior and wound repair in diabetes.
