Dr Lisa Raven is an Endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, St Vincent’s Private Hospital and St Vincent’s Clinic. Lisa is undertaking her PhD at the University of New South Wales and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, focusing on SGLT2 inhibition in heart transplant recipients.

Dr Kirstine Bell is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at the University of Sydney, where she leads her independent research group and co-leads the Charles Perkins Centre’s Type 1 Diabetes Research Node. Dr Bell is the Principal Investigator leading the Australian Type 1 Diabetes National Screening Pilot.

Biography

John is an adult endocrinologist based at Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research. His current research focuses on early diagnosis of type 1 diabetes and its prevention using immunotherapy. He established the Type1Screen family screening program in 2019 and in 2022 introduced in-home capillary blood autoantibody screening to ensure every Australian T1D family has access. He is working to offer testing to the broader population and continues to lead immunotherapy trials that aim to preserve beta cell function and prevent disease progression to insulin dependence.
