Biography

Dr Edith Holloway is a Research Fellow at the Australian Centre of Behavioural Research in Diabetes. Her research focuses on improving the emotional well-being of adults living with diabetes, including up-skilling health professionals to deliver evidence-based strategies. She has an interest in evaluating novel ways to translate research into practice.

Dr Holmes-Truscott is a Senior Research Fellow at The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes. Her applied program of research focuses on understanding and addressing diabetes stigma; reducing barriers to optimal self-care, and the promotion of person-reported outcome assessment alongside biomedical markers.

Maddie is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and Accredited Practising Dietitian. In her current position as the Clinical and Program Delivery Manager at Diabetes SA, she oversees a team of health professionals in the delivery of education and support services for the prevention and management of diabetes.

Biography

Sarah is a PhD candidate at Deakin University. She is interested in health psychology as applied to the lived experience and self-management of chronic conditions (particularly the stigmatisation of type 2 diabetes and obesity). Sarah’s PhD research explores internalised stigma among women with type 2 diabetes.

Nicola is an accredited exercise physiologist currently practising at the YMCA in Adelaide, SA. She holds a Master in Clinical Exercise Physiology and has an interest in women's health and diabetes. She is passionate about supporting people with metabolic conditions and those looking to begin their journey towards better health.

Biography

Janine Paul is a Senior Diabetes Dietitian, Gold Coast University Hospital. Janine has degrees in exercise science, nutrition and dietetics and, diabetes education. Janine’s interest in type 1 diabetes and low carbohydrate diets have become the focus of her PhD. Today she is very happy to share her research findings.
