Sara Hartnell and Candice Ward from Camdiab will provide a clinical and practical update on the mylife YpsoPump System with the mylife CamAPS FX advanced adaptive automated insulin dosing algorithm. Sara will present real world clinical evidence recently published on the YpsoPump with CamAPS FX and discuss clinical studies completed to date as well as provide a snapshot of studies planned. Candice will provide practical experiences, tips & recommendations on how to optimise the algorithm across various patient cohorts including small children, adolescents, and adults. She will focus on the unique differences of CamAPS FX versus other HCL solutions and present a methodical approach to interpreting reports. Candice will use case examples and provide some practical insights on what levers HCP’s can use to enhance patient experience and outcomes. The session will conclude with presentations from a local Health Care Professional and a patient who will provide their personal perspective on starting on the system and what it’s like to use the system day to day. All the speakers will be available for a panel Q& A session.

Biography

Sara Hartnell is a diabetes Specialist Dietitian with over 25 years experience. Working as lead Diabetes Specialist Educator at Cambridge University Hospital, she specialised in the use of all types of diabetes technology with a particular interest in increasing access. During this time, Sara was part of Prof Roman Hovorka’s Artificial Pancreas group, involved in the training and support of participants in numerous research studies. Sara now works as Operations and Partnerships Manager for CamDiab Ltd.

Dietician, Lead Cambridge Diabetes Education Program, Cambridge University, UK In addition to her lead role at Cambridge University, Candice has a declared interest as the Training and Outreach Manager for CamDiab. Candice has a particular interest in Intensive Insulin Management and has been actively involved with numerous national and international research projects in T1D and other diabetes translational research as well as numerous evaluation studies for new diabetes technology.

Biography

I have worked as a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner and a Credentialled Diabetes Educator at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) Diabetes Centre for over 20 years. Currently I am the clinical lead for our large team of diabetes educators at the Centre. I also see patients in private practice. My clinical interests are in Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes, particularly with the use of new technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump therapy. I am committed to helping patients to decrease their diabetes management burden, improve their quality of life and clinical outcomes. I am a certified pump trainer and can initiate all forms of insulin therapy, CGM and advanced hybrid closed loop systems. I have initiated insulin therapy and CGM in 100’s patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and seen excellent results.

Biography

Shaun has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for 34 years. He works as a Senior Consultant for Fulcrum Risk Services, helping clients to manage their resilience related risks. In short, he helps them plan and prepare for unexpected disruptions. He volunteers at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney as a Consumer Representative, primarily within the Diabetes Centre. He currently uses the YpsoPump with CamAPS FX. He looks forward to sharing his diabetes journey with you, in particular how he finds CamAPS FX.
