Dr Callum Baker is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), post-doctoral fellow at the University of Sydney and lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales. . Callum’s main research interest is the effects of exercise in metabolic disease and it’s complications – particularly liver related.

Nada Bechara is a senior podiatrist at the High Risk Foot Service at Blacktown Hospital. Nada is currently undertaking her PhD with Prof Jenny Gunton as her primary supervisor. Nada is passionate about the high risk foot, and hopes to have an impact in reducing preventable lower limb amputations

Dr. Mitsi Blazos and Dr. Emily Robertson are second year Basic Physician Trainees at The Alfred Hospital who wish to pursue a career in Endocrinology. Mitsi and Emily are passionate about diabetes and improving health outcomes and the quality of life of people living with diabetes.

Dr Chaubey is senior staff specialist ( Endocrinology) who has enriched experience from Far North Queensland ( FNQ) as Endocrinology trainee and later as a consultant Endocrinologist. He also worked in India as endocrinologist after getting FRACP ( Endocrinology and General Medicine) qualification which helped him in acquiring different perspective for health care delivery in resource constrained and busy clinical set up. His had served in the role of Adjunct lecturer ( Clinical) , Faculty of Medicine, Health and Molecular Sciences, School of Medicine and Dentistry, James Cook University, Townsville and Cairns Campus, Qld, and as Conjoint lecturer (Clinical), Faculty of Medicine and Public Health University of Newcastle, Newcastle, NSW. He is actively involved in development of model of care for people with obesity and metabolic syndrome in underprivileged population of FNQ and also fracture liaison service for minimal trauma fracture in CHHHS.

Dr Serena Chong is currently a first year Endocrinology Advanced Trainee at RPAH Sydney. She is undertaking her Masters by Research at the Ingham Institute under the supervision of Dr Namson Lau and Professor Slade Jensen in the field of Gut Microbiota in Diabetic Foot Disease.

Liam Clifford is an Endocrinology Advanced Trainee who is invested in quality improvement. He has a strong interest in diabetes and metabolism. Kathryn Davies is an RMO and has an interest in Endocrine and working to improve the outcomes in hyperglycaemic emergencies.

Dr Luke Conway is endocrinologist in Cairns (Far North Queensland). He works in the MDT Foot clinic and also established the young adult diabetes clinic at Cairns Diabetes Centre. He participates in regular outreach to Cape and is actively involved in working towards closing the gap in indigenous health.

Mr Dongchan Kim is a final-year medical student with an interest in clinical and translational research. Mr Kim has a passion for biomarkers of liver diseases, preventive medicine, and population health. Mr Kim has published in a peer-reviewed journal, and also has ongoing projects on genomic biomarkers of liver malignancies.

Hiu Wai Janice Lam is a fourth-year medical student from the University of New South Wales who is interested in endocrinology, especially diabetes. She is currently completing her Honours project on SGLT2i-induced eDKA with the help of her two supervisors -- Dr. Namson Lau and A/Prof. Vincent Wong.

Miss Tingting Li is a Ph.D. student at Southeast University and is supported by China Scholarship Council to undertake a 24-month visiting study at Adelaide University. Her research focuses on sweet taste signaling and renal glucose reabsorption.

Elizabeth (Pesi) Palu is a Tongan early career researcher &fourth-year PhD student. Her research is around tools to improve prevention and reduce the impact of diabetes among Pasifika communities. Pesi has worked in the (Tonga) Ministry of Health with experience designing and managing behaviour change health programs in Tonga.

Dr Natasha Rasaratnam is an Intern at Alfred Health in Melbourne. She graduated from Monash University with a Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours). She undertook her year of research at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne under the supervision of Dr Julian Sacre and Professor Jonathan Shaw, and in conjunction with the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. Natasha has an interest in pursuing a career in Endocrinology and will be starting her basic physicians training at Alfred Health in 2024.

Dr Lisa Raven is an Endocrinologist, working at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. She has an interest in diabetes and endocrine pathologies associated with solid organ transplant, and is a PhD Candidate at UNSW and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, focussed on diabetes after cardiac transplantation.

Saeede Saadati is a first-year Phd student under supervision of Prof. Barbora de Courten at Monash University. She is working on the nutritional interventions in management of T2DM and other non-communicable diseases.

Gurbakhshish Singh, MD, is a community health officer at Health Wellness Center, Abdal, Amritsar. With experience in emergency and ICU departments, he has also served as a consultant doctor at Ivy Hospital clinic. Gurbakhshish is the Managing Director of Saggu Clinic, Fatehgarh Churian, Amritsar.

Dr Gabrielle Stokes is a third year endocrinology advanced trainee at Westmead Hospital. She has an interest in the acute management of endocrine emergencies and improving health outcomes in patients with diabetes.

Peter van Wijngaarden is a Deputy Director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Melbourne. He is a co-founder and Clinical Director of KeepSight, a national program to reduce avoidable vision loss from diabetes.

Xingdi Wang is currently a medical registrar at Liverpool Hospital after graduating the University of New South Wales with distinction in 2020. She has a keen interest in diabetic retinopathy research and is an associate investigator on the SWEDDLA study.
