A/Prof Susan de Jersey is an Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Team Leader at Metro North Health and Associate Professor in the Centre for Health Services Research at the University of Queensland. Susan provides care to women with diabetes in pregnancy and gestational diabetes at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, combining clinical leadership, and care delivery with research and supervision. A/Prof de Jersey leads research to generate new knowledge, implement and evaluate changes to routine care that supports women to have a healthy pregnancy and optimise offspring outcomes. Her teams’ research is focused on the provision of high value, person centred care that is informed by evidence in the prevention and management of lifestyle related chronic disease.

Samantha Stuk is an experienced dietitian with a passion for diabetes and obesity nutrition. She started off her dietetics career at the Baker Institute in 2010. She is currently a Senior Diabetes Dietitian at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and a research dietitian with the Austin Hospital's "Centre for Research and Education in Diabetes and Obesity" (CREDO). In 2015, she established her private practice "The Nutrition Code", working closely with endocrinologists, nephrologists and bariatric surgeons. Samantha has acted as a representative for Dietitians Australia on various committees and in speaking roles related to nutrition and diabetes. She is thrilled to be presenting for you today on the use of VLED in Type 2 Diabetes
