Biography

Tracy Levett-Jones is a Distinguished Professor and Professor of Nursing Education the University of Technology Sydney. She is a world-leading healthcare researcher and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in 2022. Tracy leads the Empathy Initiative research group and has written ten books and over 200 journal publications. She has been the recipient of multiple awards and over seven million dollars of research funding. Tracy has also designed a number of educational websites including the Virtual Empathy Museum and The Patient Safety for Nursing Students website.

Biography

Dr Kelly Lambert is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian with qualifications in knowledge translation, health economics and management, and two decades of experience as a renal dietitian and a doctorate investigating health literacy and cognitive impairment in kidney failure. Dr Lambert is an Associate Professor and Academic Program Director for the Nutrition and Dietetics Program at the University of Wollongong. Dr Lambert’s research interests are intended to support people with kidney disease to live better lives and to progress the science about developing better patient education materials.

MAPS Lecturer, Dietetics & Human Nutrition Department of Dietetics, Nutrition and Sport School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport La Trobe University, Bundoora, Victoria 3086 t.cooper-terrens@latrobe.edu.au Tanya is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years’ experience of working in the field of helping people connect with their strengths as they work toward mental health and wellbeing. Tanya has worked in community health, acute and outpatient hospital settings, in management, and supervisory roles. Tanya has held various training and tertiary education roles, and loves working in multi-disciplinary teams. Currently Tanya holds a teaching focused academic role at La Trobe University in the Masters of Dietetics Program; where she teaches nutrition counselling, nutrition education, reflective practice, professional communication skills, and has a special interest in teaching Motivational Interviewing for improving healthcare conversations (having joined the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers in 2015). Tanya lives with Type 1 Diabetes and Addison’s Disease and considers herself an advocate with lived and professional expertise. Tanya brings a sense of curiosity, support, and gentle humour to the challenges of being human as we cultivate how to be our best version of a 'helping professional.'
