Biography

Alice is a recently graduated Diabetes Educator and a practicing Physiotherapist; born in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since graduating in 2003, Alice has been practicing in multiple areas of physiotherapy including aged care, rehabilitation, acute care and private practice. For the last 10 years, Alice’s work has been as an Allied Health and Wellbeing Manager for Not-for-Profit organisations, which currently includes St Basil’s Homes SA. She is a hands-on clinician and is actively involved in their clinical governance. She is firm promoter of holistic and person-centred model of care in residential aged care. She believes a Diabetes Educator has a tremendous value to residential aged care facilities to ensure best health and wellbeing outcomes.

Biography

Daniela Nash is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator. She is the ADEA Chair for South Australia and currently studying Masters of Nurse Practitioner at Flinders University. Daniela works in private practice and is employed as an Associate Lecturer and Diabetes Teaching Specialist at Flinders University. She has a passion for teaching people with diabetes how to self-manage their condition.

Biography

Ruilin is a pharmacist with over 10years of experience in the community, private hospital and aged care setting. Whilst working in the community, she noticed a gap in diabetes healthcare and went onto study her graduate certificate in diabetes education and management. She is a CDE working in private practice and pharmacy. Ruilin is passionate about improving diabetes and wound care in the primary care setting. When she is not hard at work, she puts her chef hat on trying new recipes in the kitchen.
