To acquire the 21st century literacies such as digital collaboration, intercultural communication and creative thinking, universities in three countries explore the framing of global learning environment in times of uncertainty and highlight internationalization and innovations through pilot programs and curriculum. Launched by National Taiwan University, the series of lectures, themed “Global Competence with Internationalization at Home,” aims to develop students’ intercultural interests as globally minded graduates. The intriguing delivery of in-depth teaching unveils approaches to complex challenges in order to navigate the rapidly changing globalized world. Universität Hamburg (UHH) chooses the motto “University for a Sustainable Future” to successfully compete in the German university of excellence competition. Thereby, “sustainability” is seen as an implementation of Hamburg’s ideas on education and research. One of the activities is to participate in the “UN SDG Global Partner Network” together with NTU and five other partners across the globe. As an anchor institution, Western Sydney University is committed to delivering action in many of the UN SDGs, fostering the next generation of thought leaders and civic-minded citizens who can solve these complex challenges. Western students have participated in a virtual program that focuses on the UN SDGs and the creation of innovative social start-ups. Learning Objectives: • Participants would learn about varied approaches to international higher education which align with the Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives and highlight application, analysis, evaluation and creativity. • Presenters would share insights how to incorporate glocal vision into curriculum and pilot programs in order to underscore transformative student experience. • Participants will reap the benefits of virtual SDG programs and the impact of returning to in-country experiences. Target Audience: The session would empower those who advance sustainability-based programs on campus and beyond. Speakers would share key insights on internationalization and SDGs in partnership with multiple stakeholders. The university as an engine for innovation could provide students with a platform to cultivate a global mindset. Target Audience Level: Beginner
