Details

International outlook of a university is determined by the presence of international academics and students in the campus. International outlook will support the university in providing a globally oriented education and a platform for sharing perspectives of students from different cultures to local students. Recruiting students both fulltime and mobility is more challenging in recent times especially during the pandemic. Only universities that have a good brand presence, a strong reputation, and active in attracting new students in a creative way, succeed in enrolling quality international students. This study will show how Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand implemented various creative initiatives and programmes to remain attractive to international students which resulted in steady increase of enrolment of international students in these universities. Learning Objectives: • Understanding the role of universities in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand in the grand design of the government’s initiatives on internationalisation of the HEIs • Creative strategies in recruiting international students – fulltime and mobility • Understanding the significance of institutional adjustments to be able to fulfil the international curricula requirements Target Audience: Recruitment and Student Support Target Audience Level: Beginner, Intermediate
