Given the significant impact on students and faculty mobility due to COVID-19, many universities re-evaluated their internationalisation strategies and naturally the value of internationalisation at home becomes more relevant. Global competence involves cognitive, socio-emotional, and ethical dimensions as students investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action. The questions remain how can we prepare our student well for the changing demands of living in a globally connected world to expand opportunities for global and intercultural understanding for all student. At this contentious moment, preparing for global competence and thoughtful cross-cultural inquiry is an urgent practical and moral necessity.
