The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an actionable framework for educational programs and bring the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion to build partnerships for continued higher education excellence. Given the current climate emergency and its expected impact on marine and human environment, it is becoming accepted that rapid and inclusive dissemination of knowledge and understanding of the Blue Energy and Economy, and its possible actions, are essential to delivery of at least 5 of these 17 SDGs. Going Global Partnerships (GGP) on ‘Blue Energy for Blue Economy’ gives the authors an opportunity to create an innovative hybrid virtual and in-person challenge-based learning educational program, which effectively address the needs through transnational education (TNE) activities focusing and embedding SDGs into its purposes and delivery. The session will present the activities of multi-background participants from Asia and Europe within GGP virtual meetings followed by the onsite challenge-based learning on Blue Energy and Economy. The presentation will also highlight the character of activities, some of key learnings, successes and challenges encountered. Furthermore, it will also bring the result of participant’s learning journeys through reflective diaries and highlight how these innovative learning platform bring benefit for academics, business, community and government. Learning Objectives: Session participants will learn about the Going Global Partnership (GGP) program on ‘Blue Energy for Blue Economy’ and its implementation in virtual and challenge-based learning. As a result of this session, participants will: • Understand how GGP defines, measure, and reports on indicators for program goals. Furthermore, attendees will also better understand how the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) core and values are embed into the activities within the program. • Learn about facilitating the development and implementation of virtual and in-person challenge-based approach for ‘Blue Energy for Blue Economy’. • Learn about the best practices for challenge-based through facilitated interview or focus group discussion and reflective diaries. In addition to that, audience will better know how these best practices bring advantages to broader stakeholder such as academic, business, community and government. Target Audience: The session will bring benefit for professional educators, international office representatives, learning technologists and programme developers, NGOs and action support organisations, students, founders and policy formers. Audience may work in the areas of education design, management and delivery, TNE, challenge-based learning, SDGs, international collaboration, sustainable delivery of teaching and learning. Target Audience Level: Beginner, Intermediate

Biography

Ms. Agustin is in charge of the New Project Initiative at ITS Global Engagement. She developed a strong teamwork skill by involving in projects for youth particularly in the STEAM field. She has managed several projects with university, institution, company, government and NGO in regional, national and international level.
