Should one buy oranges at the market, or water and nurture the orange tree? Current recruitment practice is built on the premise that schools are "markets" where transactions with prospective students and parents occur, instead of on the more forward-thinking notion that schools are trees, deeply rooted and with unlimited potential for growth and development. This session invites university representatives on the journey to shift the mindset from focusing on outdated, transactional recruitment models to one in which school empowerment takes center stage. The panel will showcase how new ways of thinking and engaging result in a multiplier effect on outcomes, opening doorways to sustainable and impactful enrollment management practices.
Learning Objectives:
Session participants will:
• Walk away with at least 3 specific recruitment strategies that prioritize school empowerment
• Be prepared to have outcome-based discussions at their institutions that shift the mindset from transactional recruitment to holistic, relational recruitment
• Be sensitized to the concepts of "sustainable counseling" and "sustainable recruitment"
Target Audience:
University enrolment leaders and professionals; recruitment, enrolment, outreach, marketing and communications management.
Target Audience Level:
Intermediate
