This paper aims to explore 5 points of the new higher education institutions (HEIs) in Vietnam and Asia-Pacific regions towards sustainable and “green” development in post-Covid 19 context. Through policy reviews, secondary data study and interview methods, authors explore firstly the status-quo of transformation of teaching and learning model engaged with digitalization in Vietnam and Asian countries on the pathway to digital society. Secondly, changes in students’ accession in learning material from classic textbooks to open online data or institutions’ academically streamlined data portal. Thirdly, higher education institutions in Vietnam and Asia-Pacific countries are in green-oriented shifts of training majors, which are both in response to pandemic prevention purpose and create clean education eco-system. The last two points raises the need of better-oriented collaborations among HEIs to enrich multi-facet experiences of students through common-used online lectures and hybrid interactions; as well as the collaborations between HEIs and enterprises to design more efficient internship for students as stable-run innovative start-ups hubs in Vietnam and Asia-Pacific regions. Recommendations are raised from legal policy and implementation viewpoints. This paper contributes to promote educational digitalization and HEIs internationalization in Vietnam and Asia-Pacific regions. Nguyen Thi Quynh Giang, PhD (1983) is the Deputy director of International Training Institute of Hoa Binh University (IIE-HBU), Ha Noi, Vietnam. She majors in public governance and international law with 16 years of experience in educational projects and research. Mrs Giang is a visiting teacher and researcher.

Biography

Professor Associate, Doctor TO Ngoc-Hung is currently the President of Hoa Binh University, one member of Sovico Groups, the leading investment group in Vietnam. Prof. Hung has 50 years working in finance and banking sector. He holds the positions of leader various higher education institutions in Vietnam, i.e, Leader of Vietnam Banking Academy for 20 years and President of Hoa Binh University for 5 years.
