"The Asia-Oceania Five Universities Alliance Summer Camp" is a global leadership program in the rapidly growing Asia-Oceania region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, although the summer camp in 2019 was carried out in-person in Japan, hosted by Tokyo City University, the second camp was delivered on a virtual platform by De La Salle University in Manila. The objective of this paper is to compare in-person and online program and to consider a new style of program. From these experiences, using a combination of in-person with virtual modality is the best way forward. The alliance will be a great advantage in implementing such a hybrid program by leveraging a combination of in-person and online elements.
Learning Objectives:
• The camp addressed several the United Nation Sustainable Development Gaols (SDG), a theme relevant to all participating member countries. Students were presented with various initiatives in the selected areas.
• This facilitated project-based learning and shall spark meaningful discussions and debates amongst participants.
• The debate on such issues is stimulating and is a benefit at the international project-based learning (PBL) programs.
