The assessment of international partnerships has never been so important. In this post-pandemic world, institutions are becoming more deliberate and focused with their limited resources to ensure sustainability, quality, and impact. Targeted, well-informed collaboration with international partners is critical.
Join the University of Calgary (Canada) and University of Pittsburgh (USA) to discuss the importance of partnership inventory/assessment, critical challenges, development of these uniquely customized tools, and strategies to garner buy-in from your own unique institution. Workshop ideas and best practices with colleagues to proactively ensure that universities and partner institutions can act more nimbly, collaboratively, and strategically in an ever-changing and increasingly globalized world.
This workshop is open to all – from single person offices with limited resources to larger units with dedicated support. This workshop is primarily intended for those who are in the conceptual, development, or early implementation phase of their own inventory/assessment process. By referencing three different models from the presenting institutions, professionals from schools of any size and structure can work together to explore ways to better develop a unique inventory/assessment tool and identify strategies to advocate for these tools across campus.
Learning Objectives:
• Understanding impact of global partnership assessment tools and utilizing tangible tools/resources to garner institutional buy-in and ties to greater university strategic plans. Attendees will discuss best practices for advocating for partnership inventory/assessment tools as a way for universities to be more nimble, agile, and sustainable.
• How to advocate for/garner buy-in from institutional leadership and incorporate efforts into your greater strategic plan. Attendees will actively participate in discussions on ways to advocate for partnership tools and objectives, understand how initiatives can fit within the larger scope of their university’s strategic plan, and how to convey to senior leaders that interinstitutional partnership tools deepen and strengthen a university’s local and global impact.
• Garnering support from and showcasing impact to colleagues, schools and departments. Workshop exercises will encourage attendees to determine which data is needed for assessment, identify data stewards, unpack the vast amount of data spread across numerous sources, and other challenges.
Target Audience:
SIOs and administrators involved in global interinstitutional partnerships and partner engagement, education abroad professionals, transnational education
Target Audience Level:
