In a world of unprecedented global health crisis and volatile political environments, students from the Asia Pacific and North America are rightfully concerned about studying abroad. On the flip side, North American institutions need to step up their support for international students and their students going abroad to be innovative in their approach to remain competitive and offer meaningful educational experiences to the next generation. In addition, polarizing view points by world leaders have made many people realize how important it is to increase intercultural competency amongst their campus communities to create truly welcoming, supportive environments for all. This session will explore how three different institutions in Canada and the US are ramping up their game to remain competitive in the IE field by exploring sustainable approaches and innovative programs as well as intercultural competency training for their faculty, staff and students. Relevant Sub-Themes: 1. Student experience and well-being. 2. Partnerships and mobility. 4. Student recruitment
