Details

With three years into the pandemic, the changing parameters for institutions to provide sustainable international student mobility opportunities continue to add new layers of complexity. The debate about the most effective modes to ensure the best student mobility learning experience rages on. Have recent innovations increased and extended international outreach to a wider group of students in a more sustainable way? Or will the resurgent student thirst for physical student mobility trigger a backlash against the new ‘greener’ possibilities? Based on recent data, this session will analyse the multiple factors involved in providing an integrated approach to international student exchange mobility programmes. We will present a model which optimises an institution’s current international activities portfolio to achieve an integrated approach and meet all students’ needs. We will discuss how cooperation between Asia-Pacific and European institutions can be improved and enhanced by harnessing new learning dynamics whilst encompassing traditional formats. Learning Objectives: Participants will learn how to: • Identify the trends in student exchange mobility demand and optimise their current international opportunities portfolios • Update student exchange mobility agreements to include new learning formats • Find the right balance to include sustainability best practice in student exchange mobility programmes Target Audience Level: Intermediate Advanced
