Details

This panel introduces the “EVALUATE handbook” recently launched by a consortium of European and Australian Universities aimed at improving the quality and governance of international strategic partnerships entered into by higher education institutions. The handbook draws upon existing evaluation theory, includes a comprehensive literature review, and is grounded by an anthology of case studies by the project partners that explore relevant themes and demonstrate partnership management and evaluation in practice. The handbook represents an important contribution to the discipline of international education partnerships, and provides a helpful framework for international education professionals for the evaluation of success, failure and everything in between. The project has been funded by an ERASMUS+ grant (KA203 Strategic Partnerships project). The handbook was formally launched in late 2022 in Dublin, and is now presented for a first time in an Asia-Pacific forum. Learning Objectives: • Learn about designing and implementing evaluation processes for strategic partnerships, including strategies and tools for defining and measuring success. • Explore partnership evaluation and governance in practice by way of relevant case-studies presented by panel members. • Guided self-reflection on each stage of the partnership lifecycle, including activities and steps in the stage prior to entering a partnership Target Audience: Higher Education professionals, including academic and professional services Target Audience Level: Intermediate
