Details

COVID-19 has slowed down, halted, or even killed a large number of global exchanges and programs. However, this is the time to get a head start, especially for those institutions that were somewhat behind before COVID-19. While many institutions want to resume their global activities, not many are available yet. Thus, this is the time to make a head start. There are two major points to consider: (1) expanding relationship with new institutions, and (2) offering a combination of flexible online and face-to-face programs. Many institutions are trying to resume their global activities and send/receive international students. Some Asian countries are still hesitant to send students overseas but many countries, including Europe and North America, are eager to have international students on campus. Now, even some prestigious universities are willing to accept students from the world. At the same time, they are also looking for a place(s) to send their students because many programs are on hold. It is time to create and offer a flexible program with both face-to-face and online format. Flexibility is a key here. Modifying the programs may be necessary. Now is the time to resume global activities and make a head start. Learning Objectives: • Situation after COVID-19 (experience gained attending NAFSA) • How to expand relationship with new institutions • Necessity of offering flexible programs Target Audience: Institutions that had to hold the international programs due to COVID-19, but that are trying to resume their activities. Target Audience Level: Intermediate
