Education is at the heart of Sustainability!
Based on two study weeks of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Business in Switzerland at Mahidol University – MUIC in Thailand and University of the Fraser Valley in Canada, we illustrate how intercultural competence supports participants in gaining awareness of the perception of sustainability and which pillars of sustainability matter most in different cultures.
This session includes reflections on the various levels of possible partnership involvement in offering a short-term study program (STP) and concrete ways of helping students transfer their learned awareness of the sustainability dimensions to the work world as well as privately. The presenters discuss their experiences with both onsite and blended intensive programs (BIPs).
The presenters use a duoethnographic approach to concretely illustrate what leads to a successful and sustainable partnership on STPs in the Asia-Pacific region and in Lucerne and how to overcome challenges.
The following 4 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be reflected upon during the session as the speakers link practice with theory.
