Details

This session will answer the questions of which universities are having the greatest environmental and social impact and how their research collaborations are helping them to meet their sustainability action plans. By conducting in-depth evaluation of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, we can highlight the best-performing institutions for environmental and social sustainability and compare institutional performance in Asia-Pacific to other regions. Using further insights from research data, the analysis can highlight universities with a strong propensity to global collaboration. This willingness to work across borders is vital to any institution wishing to make a difference to climate research. By analysing these collaborations in the context of sustainability, we can show which universities are the forerunners for their environmental and social impact credentials. We’ll demonstrate this by detailing how much research is being published and where it is being published. Our approach also highlights and rewards institutions that collaborate with institutions from countries in receipt of Official Development Assistance (ODA), as well as recognizing universities from ODA nations that collaborate with universities in more developed regions. We will drill down into the data to help universities focus your research collaboration efforts to maximize global impact. Learning Objectives: • Which universities are having the greatest environmental and social impact, and which are best placed to meet their sustainability action plans in the Asia Pacific region. Moving forwards, attendees will also leave with a clear understanding of what they need to do to further their own sustainability-related efforts at an institutional level. • Which universities are the strongest global collaborators for their environmental and social impact efforts and how these collaborations have led to meaningful and tangible changes. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to direct their research partnerships to ensure their impact and recognition is maximised. • How partnering with institutions in receipt of ODA or with universities in more developed regions can help to focus your university’s research collaboration activities in sustainability-related fields. Attendees will leave with an awareness of specific examples of best practice in this area, providing a template for their own collaboration efforts. Target Audience: Student recruitment, Marketing, SDGs and Sustainability offices, Research / Partnership departments Target Audience Level: Beginner
