Dr Ella Zomer is a leading Australian health economist. She is the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Program Lead in the Monash University Health Economics Group and Research Lead for the Australian Diabetes Clinical Quality Registry. Her research interest lies in clinical epidemiology and health economics.

Biography

Associate Professor Wendy Davis is an epidemiologist and applied biostatistician with expertise in data linkage and health economics. She is a Principal Research Fellow at UWA. She has had research interests in diabetes since 1995 and has played an integral part in the Fremantle Diabetes Study.

Dr Kwok Leung Ong (BSc, PhD, GradDipHDS, FAHA) is a Senior Research Fellow, NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney. His research interest is the identification of biomarkers for cardiovascular and microvascular complications of type 2 diabetes using clinical samples and data from large-scale cohorts, including the FIELD trial.

Biography

A/Prof Samantha Hocking is an Endocrinologist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Academic at the University of Sydney. Samantha’s main research interest is precision medicine exploring how personalised medicine can both predict, prevent and improve the management of metabolic disease, particularly diabetes. In addition, she is working with fellow researchers at The Boden Institute and the CPC-RPA Clinic on projects in obesity, bariatric surgery, metabolic syndrome and diabetes and liver disease.
