Alison is an Associate Research Fellow at the ACBRD, currently providing support on the MRFF Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA) funded HypoPAST (Hypoglycaemia Prevention, Awareness of Symptoms, and Treatment) project. HypoPAST is an online psycho-educational program designed to reduce fear of hypoglycaemia through improved prevention and management of hypos.

Biography

Achamma is an APD/AN and CDE based in Townsville, Queensland. She works both in the public and private sector and also with CALD and Indigenous clients/organisations. Her career started as a research assistant in a Diabetes Research Centre and her passion for improving management for people with Diabetes has been ongoing. She is actively involved in various committees of ADEA and Dietitians Australia. Her passion has seen her training community health workers, nurses and other health professionals in diabetes prevention and management through several diabetes related international projects in Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Pacific Islands and in India.
