Achamma is an APD/AN and CDE based in Townsville, Queensland. She works both in the public and private sector and also with CALD and Indigenous clients/organisations. Her career started as a research assistant in a Diabetes Research Centre and her passion for improving management for people with Diabetes has been ongoing. She is actively involved in various committees of ADEA and Dietitians Australia. Her passion has seen her training community health workers, nurses and other health professionals in diabetes prevention and management through several diabetes related international projects in Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Pacific Islands and in India.

Tim has been a health consumer representative & advocate for over 27 years.
His former roles include: advisor to two federal Health Ministers (as a member of the National Lead Clinicians Group), member of the WA Clinical Senate Executive, the WA Health Diabetes & Endocrinology Clinical Network, the Diabetes Australia Medical, Education and Scientific Advisory Council, the board of Diabetes WA, the Diabetes Guidelines Expert Advisory Group at Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute; and Boardmember of Health Consumers’ Council WA and Consumers Health Forum of Australia.
Amongst numerous current roles, he is a Patient for Patient Safety Champion for the World Health Organisation; member of the Diabetes Standard Set Project Group for the International Consortium of Health Outcomes Measurement, and the Australian representative on the Six Degrees Medical T2D DEEP Virtual Advisory Board.
Earlier this year, he was a co-author of The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology article, “Living Between Two Worlds - What Researchers, Clinicians and Community Organisations Can Learn from Diabetes Lived Experience”.
He has presented at a number of conferences, including: the "Asia Pacific Conference on the Metabolic Syndrome"; the University of WA Health Forum (Diabetes – Priorities, Targets, & Annual Cycle of Care), and the United Nations conference on "Global Health Challenges - Achieving the Millennium Development Goals”.
