Dr. Karen Mathews is an experienced researcher who has recently completed her Ph.D. focusing on the zoonosis Q fever. She currently works with the diabetes research team led by Professor Simmons at Western Sydney University's School of Medicine, where she manages and coordinates clinical trials in diabetes research.

Li Mengyu, a graduate student, major in public health, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, research interests in national basic public health services to the country, research on the health management effect of digital therapies for chronic diseases.

Effie Houvardas is the ADEA NDSS Program Manager. Effie has worked in diabetes education since 1996 and has a special interest in education for health professionals. Melinda Morrison is an APD/CDE with a PhD in the area of gestational diabetes. She has more than 25 years experience in diabetes education.

She is a PhD candidate in nursing from Zhejiang University. Her research interests focus on the self-management of patients with diabetic foot, especially the application of digital intelligent technology in this field. At present, she has published 3 SCI papers as the first author.

Associate Professor Neale Cohen is the Director of Clinical Services and an endocrinologist involved research at The Baker Institute in Melbourne. As head of the Diabetes Clinical Research lab, his key research interests are Type 1 diabetes technology, indigenous diabetes and diabetes therapeutics.

Alison is the Portfolio Manager for Chronic Disease services with Marathon Health, based in Dubbo NSW. She is a credentialed diabetes educator with more than 17 years working in Primary Health care, and currently leads a team of 5 diabetes educators to provide outreach diabetes education clinics across rural communities in Western NSW. She has extensive experience working with First Nations communities, delivering services into the Wellington, Dubbo, Gilgandra and Coonamble Aboriginal Health services, and supports the coordination and delivery of the Indigenous Chronic Disease clinic at Bathurst. She is an advocate for workforce growth and development across her footprint and supports the delivery of place-based care to meet community needs.
