Professor Christopher (Chris) Nolan is a clinician-scientist working in the field of diabetes, including diabetes in pregnancy. He is the Professor of Endocrinology at the School of Medicine and Psychology, Australian National University (ANU) and a Senior Staff Specialist in Diabetes and Endocrinology at The Canberra Hospital. He is currently a Board Member of the Australian Diabetes Society, Co-Chair of the Diabetes Australia Research Program Advisory Panel, Chair of the National Association of Diabetes Centres Steering Committee, and a recent Advisory Board Member for Diabetologia. His diabetes-related research activities traverse basic science, clinical science and public health.

Sian Graham is an Bardi-Jawi and Noongar woman from One Arm Point in the Kimberley and the Balladong region of Western Australia. She has lived and worked in remote communities throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Sian is the lead Aboriginal researcher of the Diabetes Across the Lifecourse; Northern Australian Partnership, who founded and Chairs the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group. She has continuously invested in research capacity and leadership. Her work has also highlighted the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Governance within research and why Governance is a mechanism for action.

Matt is a clinician-researcher whose work focuses on addressing the intergenerational impacts of diabetes and related conditions among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. He is a Staff Specialist and Clinical Lead for Remote Services within the Endocrinology Department at Royal Darwin Hospital. Matt is also currently a Board Director of the Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society and serves on the Research Advisory Committee of the Australian Diabetes Society. Matt is currently lead investigator on multiple epidemiology and translational projects, with competitive funding from the Diabetes Australia Research Program and the Commonwealth Department of Health.

Associate Professor Glynis Ross is an endocrinologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Lead Endocrinologist in the RPAH Diabetes in Pregnancy Service since 1989) and Bathurst. She has been a Diabetes Australia Board member since 2016. Glynis was on the Australian Diabetes Society Council 2012-2020 [President 2018-2020]. She was on the ADIPS Council for two 8-year terms [President 2008-2010]. Glynis is currently Chair of the ADS Education Advisory Council. In addition, she is Chair of the NDSS Diabetes Expert Reference Group, a member of the NSW Diabetes and Endocrine Executive, national Diabetes Expert Advisory Group, Australian National Diabetes Strategy Expert Reference Group and a number of other state and national working parties in diabetes. Her major interests are diabetes in pregnancy, type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology, inpatient diabetes management, diabetes health professional education and diabetes advocacy.

A/Prof Katherine Tonks is the founder of Sydney Endocrinology, a Staff Specialist of the Department of Endocrinology, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, and Clinical Research Officer of the Diabetes and Obesity Research Program, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney. She is a Conjoint (Lecturer) Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales, and an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame.
A/Prof Tonks helped form the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Foot Clinic at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2008. She completed a PhD looking at the molecular causes of insulin resistance and diabetes in 2016.
