Biography
Tanya is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in helping people connect with their strengths as they work toward mental health and wellbeing. With a background in community health, acute and outpatient hospital settings, supervisory roles, and educational positions, Tanya brings a sense of curiosity, support, and gentle humour to the challenges of being human, helping us to cultivate our best selves as 'helping professionals.'
Currently, Tanya teaches at La Trobe University in the Masters of Dietetics Program, specializing in nutrition counselling. She has a special interest in teaching Motivational Interviewing to improve healthcare conversations, having joined the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers in 2015. Additionally, she serves as the clinical mental health educator for Australian Unity, where her primary role is to provide education and training for the Beyond Blue Support Service.
Living with Type 1 Diabetes and Addison’s Disease, Tanya considers herself an advocate with both lived and professional expertise.

Biography
Head Nurse of the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University People's Hospital in Beijing, China. She holds a bachelor's degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and serves as the Chairman of the Diabetes Nursing Professional Committee at the Chinese Nursing Association. Additionally, she is the Deputy Director of the Endocrinology Professional Committee at Beijing Nursing Society. With over 20 years of experience in diabetes nursing and education, she has contributed to editing and compiling numerous books, guidelines, group standards, expert consensuses related to diabetes care.

Biography
I am an Australian man of West Papuan and Dutch Indonesian heritage and grew up in the suburb of Inala in South East Queensland. Much of my working life has been spent in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the north, far north and gulf country of Queensland. I have worked primarily in the fields of education, housing and community development and for the past 10 years, I have worked as a Project Officer in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit of Diabetes Queensland. I have recently graduated as a Registered Nurse and look forward to commencing my post graduate studies in diabetes education in 2025 to continue my work in this field.

Biography
Dr Shannon Lin, the Diabetes Course Director & Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), also dedicated her efforts to outreach diabetes clinics in Indigenous communities. She also collaborates extensively with Asian Pacifics and is identified as the most influential Australian diabetes professional in China. Shannon is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and a Credential Diabetes Educator with 20 years of experience. Her contributions and clinical excellence have garnered several accolades, including multiple teaching and research excellence awards at UTS and the 2023 UTS Alumni Award. Shannon was awarded the National Credentialled Diabetes Educator of the Year 2023. Additionally, she serves as a Board Director for the Australian Diabetes Educators Association.

Biography
Grace is a lecturer with the University of Technology Sydney and Diabetes Educator with Diabetes Australia. She is an Aboriginal woman of Kamilaroi/Yuwaalaraay descent from South West Queensland.
Grace has a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Grace believes that culturally appropriate education and programs is integral in improving health outcomes for First Nations people and her passion is to increase the workforce of Indigenous diabetes educators.
