The session will prompt the audience to reflect on their own values, philosophies and beliefs regarding behaviour change as well as their experience changing their own behaviours. We will explore the evidence around value-based practice, unpack what makes some conversations difficult to have with clients and provide health professionals with an opportunity to develop strategies to tackle those tough conversations.

Biography
As a dedicated dietitian and certified diabetes educator, Charlotte specialises in supporting individuals through their journey toward healthier eating habits. With a focus on emotional and stress eating, Charlotte empowers clients to overcome obstacles and develop sustainable lifestyle changes. Passionate about progressing individualised dietary interventions, Charlotte has recently submitted her PhD in the area of Personalised Nutrition. During her PhD studies, Charlotte used Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy to examine commonly consumed foods, as well as human biological samples to elucidate individual responses to those foods.

Biography
Dr Melanie Burkhardt is a clinical psychologist based at two tertiary diabetes centres, Fiona Stanley, and Royal Perth Hospitals, in Perth Western Australia. For the past 15 years, Mel has worked almost exclusively with individuals with diabetes and its complications. Her research interests encompass the translation, implementation and evaluation of behavioural interventions aiming to improve self-regulation, physical health outcomes, psychological wellbeing, and quality of life. The current focus of her work involves improving lives of adults with type 1 diabetes, and those with diabetes-related foot disease.

Biography
Sheryl Moore is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator at Diabetes WA. Sheryl is passionate about training health professionals to utilise a person centered care approach. She has been involved in the development of Diabetes WA's group self-management programs and currently trains and mentors to deliver programs that are delivered nationally as part of the National Diabetes Services Scheme.

Diane is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over thirty years’ experience in Public Health nutrition. She is also a Credentialed Diabetes Educator with expertise in diabetes self-management, trained and accredited in the UK, Diabetes Education and Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed (DESMOND) program. Diane currently works at Diabetes WA, as part of the training and assessment team, training and mentoring health professionals to deliver diabetes person centred care. She has a special interest in Aboriginal Health, dedicating her time to supporting Aboriginal Health Practitioner's to deliver culturally secure diabetes education.
