Biography

Dr Giuliana Murfet, an experienced diabetes and metabolic bariatrics nurse practitioner, is an ADEA Fellow and past ADEA President, an inaugural Bullwinkel Scholar and was named Jan Baldwin CDE of the Year in 2022. She actively advises the NDSS and Diabetes Australia as chair of the Health Professional and Medical Educational and Scientific Advisory Councils and is a member of the Living Evidence for Diabetes Consortium. As a casual academic and Visiting Scholar at the University of Technology Sydney’s School of Public Health, her research focuses on diabetes workforce development, nurse-led care models, and health literacy. Giuliana authored the Capability Framework for Diabetes Care and is dedicated to innovative solutions in healthcare.
