Emma is an advanced accredited practising dietitian and credentialed diabetes educator who has been working in both renal and endocrinology outpatient clinics at Logan hospital since 2014. Her passion is provision of intensive diabetes education for patients living with diabetes to prevent further deterioration of kidney function

Sheryl Moore is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator at Diabetes WA. She has been involved in the development of the Smarts programs and trains and mentors facilitators. Carly Luff is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Credentialled Diabetes Educator and currently a Clinical Services Manager at Diabetes WA.

Dr Virginia Hagger (PhD) is a CDE and senior lecturer in nursing and course director for the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education at Deakin University. She has over 35 years’ experience in clinical care, management and research related to the education and care of people with diabetes.

Gael Holters is a dedicated Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) renowned for her passion and expertise in improving the lives of those with diabetes. Currently Gael is coordinating the DREAM Initiative-a rural and regional program between the Murrumbidgee Region and St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Kirstine Bell is a dietitian, diabetes educator and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, where she co-leads the Type 1 Diabetes Research node at the Charles Perkins Centre. Kirstie is the Principal Research Fellow leading the Australian Type 1 Diabetes National Screening Pilot.

Jenny is a nurse practitioner working at the Diabetes Service, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. She has over 20 years of experience in diabetes education and management, including 12 years as a clinical nurse consultant, three years as a transitional nurse practitioner, and wo years as an endorsed nurse practitioner.

Katie Marley is Nurse Unit Manager, Diabetes Education Service of the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Passionate about influencing and fostering positive work culture, a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement and innovation, shaping diabetes service design and delivery to reflect a high standard of care and positive patient experiences.

Paidamoyo Hatendi is a dedicated diabetes clinical nurse consultant with a wealth of knowledge managing people living with T1DM, T2DM and GDM. Dr Giuliana Murfet, an experienced diabetes and metabolic bariatrics nurse practitioner, is an ADEA Fellow and past ADEA President, an inaugural Bullwinkel Scholar and was named Jan Baldwin CDE of the Year in 2022. She actively advises the NDSS and Diabetes Australia as chair of the Health Professional and Medical Educational and Scientific Advisory Councils and is a member of the Living Evidence for Diabetes Consortium. As a casual academic and Visiting Scholar at the University of Technology Sydney’s School of Public Health, her research focuses on diabetes workforce development, nurse-led care models, and health literacy. Giuliana authored the Capability Framework for Diabetes Care and is dedicated to innovative solutions in healthcare.
