A/Prof Samantha Hocking is an Endocrinologist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Academic at the University of Sydney. Samantha’s main research interest is precision medicine exploring how personalised medicine can both predict, prevent and improve the management of metabolic disease, particularly diabetes. In addition, she is working with fellow researchers at The Boden Institute and the CPC-RPA Clinic on projects in obesity, bariatric surgery, metabolic syndrome and diabetes and liver disease.

Professor Steve Stranks is a clinical endocrinologist and researcher based at Flinders Medical Centre where he was Director of Southern Adelaide Diabetes and Endocrine Services from 2007-21. He is the immediate past president of the Australian Diabetes Society and still active on ADS sub - committees.

Dr Shannon Lin, the Diabetes Course Director & Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), also dedicated her efforts to outreach diabetes clinics in Indigenous communities. She also collaborates extensively with Asian Pacifics and is identified as the most influential Australian diabetes professional in China. Shannon is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and a Credential Diabetes Educator with 20 years of experience. Her contributions and clinical excellence have garnered several accolades, including multiple teaching and research excellence awards at UTS and the 2023 UTS Alumni Award. Shannon was awarded the National Credentialled Diabetes Educator of the Year 2023. Additionally, she serves as a Board Director for the Australian Diabetes Educators Association.

Professor Grant Brinkworth is Director of Research at Diabetes Australia and international research leader in understanding the role of diet and lifestyle approaches for optimising human health, including the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as obesity and diabetes. His interests developing, translating, and commercialising evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle solutions and health service models with integration of healthcare technologies and digital approaches for wide-scale adoption and health impact. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and co-author of the bestselling CSIRO Low Carb Diet book series which has been adopted into clinical practice guidelines and product solutions for improving weight and diabetes management.

Dr Kirstine Bell is a dietitian, diabetes educator and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia. She currently leads the Australian Type 1 Diabetes National Screening Pilot and co-leads the Type 1 Diabetes Research node at the Charles Perkins Centre. She has authored a number of national and international clinical guidelines and was named the ADS Lindsay Baudinet Rising Star in Diabetes and the JDRF International Dr Robert Goldstein Early-Career Research award.
