Biography

Deepa Joshi is a feminist political ecologist by training and her research analyzes shifts in water, food and environmental policies and how these restructure intersectional inequalities by gender, poverty, class, ethnicity and identity. She has experience in strengthening gender and inclusion capacity in policy, implementing and research institutions. Giriraj Amarnath, Principal Researcher at IWMI, specializes in climate resilience and disaster risk management. With 20+ years’ experience across 25+ countries, he develops innovative climate risk management solutions aided with digital tools for climate adaptation, including drought monitoring and smart farming platforms. He leads anticipatory action programs, advancing climate-smart governance and finance for adaptation in Africa and Asia.
