Ms. Jaee Nikam is a Research Associate at the Climate Resilient Societies through Equitable Transformations (ReSET) Lab at Carleton University. Her work focuses in the intersection of science and policy. She is currently focusing on indicator analysis for equitable adaptation pathways for climate mobilities.

Biography

Melissa Lubelihle Sibanda, with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Industrial Psychology and Psychology, a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, and Property Management holds a Masters in Housing qualification and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. She has served in the University of KwaZulu Natal as a Sports Coach, Building Surveyor, Research Assistant, Academic Tutor, Academic Mentor, and Academic Development Officer. Melissa is dedicated to improving urban living conditions and safety standards in Human Settlement. Her research interests resonate with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly concerning sustainable cities and communities, poverty alleviation, and energy transition.

She adopts co-design, design and systems thinking approaches in her applied research, in India, Solomon Islands and Australia.

Dr. Amorim-Maia is an interdisciplinary socio-environmental scientist specialising in climate justice, urban adaptation governance, and equitable resilience. She is a Juan de la Cierva Fellow and postdoctoral researcher at BC3, contributing to IMAGINE Adaptation, where she supports cities in developing inclusive adaptation strategies and assessing progress toward just and resilient futures.
