Doni Wainiqolo is a PhD researcher in a bi-institutional program at Bergen University and the University of the South Pacific under the Norway-Pacific Ocean-Climate Scholarship Programme (N-POC). An urban planner, he specializes in sustainable urban planning, disaster risk reduction, and natural resource management in Small Island Developing States, particularly for grassroots communities in Fiji.
Dr. Joeli Varo is the Head of Land Management Discipline at USP and an Adjunct Research Assistant Professor in Geospatial Science & Urban & Regional Planning at FNU. He also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Namosi Provincial Council, contributing to land management, policy, and regional development in Fiji.

Giriraj Amarnath, Principal Researcher at IWMI, specializes in climate resilience and disaster risk management. With 20+ years’ experience across 25+ countries, he develops innovative climate risk management solutions aided with digital tools for climate adaptation, including drought monitoring and smart farming platforms. He leads anticipatory action programs, advancing climate-smart governance and finance for adaptation in Africa and Asia.
