Biography

Mike leads climate change adaptation and mitigation research at Natural England (UK government conservation agency) and is a Visiting Professor at Reading University. He was a Coordinating Lead Author in IPCC Working Group II in AR6. He previously led a research group at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.

Presenters are experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) working on climate change adaptation monitoring, evaluation and learning. Duchelle, Nuutinen and Libert are FAO officials from the Forestry Division (NFO), and Rai and Mbodj are from the Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment (OCB).

Dimitri Selibas is a climate and development consultant specialising in Africa and Latin America. With a background in environmental journalism, he has engaged directly with communities across Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Namibia, and South Africa, gaining critical insights into on-the-ground realities sitting at intersections of climate, biodiversity, and development.

Biography

Selane is a graduate of Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in psychology with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology. She has experience working in statistics, particularly in survey development, and data collection and management. She is currently a research officer and junior statistician at TPVM, specialising in quantitative analysis and community partnerships.

Lauren has a broad range of interests and experience in social science research. She has a Masters in Sustainable Development form Massey University, and is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative methods. As a research fellow at TPVM, she co-led the survey design and data analysis for the RRA study.

Biography

Luisa is a researcher at the Land Resources Division of SPC, and a PhD researcher at the University of the South Pacific. As an iTaukei (indigenous Fijian), she is passionate about telling the stories of local communities. Her research focuses on coconut agribusiness and its contribution to rural development.
