Biography

Dr. Amorim-Maia is an interdisciplinary socio-environmental scientist exploring the intersections of climate change adaptation, urban governance, and social justice. She is a Juan de la Cierva Fellow and postdoctoral researcher at BC3, where she contributes to IMAGINE Adaptation, supporting cities in envisioning resilient futures and assessing progress toward achieving them.

Biography

Stephanie works alongside communities, sectors, and governments on building accountability in adaptation and bringing together different perspectives to address climate, environmental, and social challenges. They center reconciliation, community-building, and systems change in their work. Centering “disruptive kindness” in adaptation has given purpose to their BASc, MBA, and ongoing PhD studies.

Dr Stephen Flood is the Resilience Lead at the Irish Climate Change Advisory Council Secretariat. He has a research background in climate change adaptation, holds a research scholar affiliation with Maynooth University, and coordinates the activities of the Climate Change Advisory Council’s Adaptation Committee.

Esdras is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Science at the National University of Agriculture, Benin, specializing in climate adaptation and resilience in African food systems. His research focuses on the feasibility and effectiveness of climate adaptation strategies in smallholder farming, examining how socio-economic, institutional, and environmental factors shape adaptation outcomes.

Biography

Alexandra Tomaselli (she/her) is a senior researcher at the Institute for minority rights of Eurac Research, (Italy), where she also collaborates with the Centre for Climate Change and Transformation and co-coordinates the cross-disciplinary research area Gender Dynamics. Her research foci include gender, intersectionality, climate adaptation, human, minority and indigenous peoples’ rights. Lydia Pedoth (she/her) is a researcher at Eurac Research’s Center for Climate Change and Transformation, Italy. She co-coordinates the Research Area "Transformation towards Climate Just Societies" and specializes in risk governance, resilience, and climate change adaptation. She collaborates with regional, national and international organizations and networks such as EUSALP, UNU University, we4DRR. Adriana Recalde (she/her) specializes in environmental law. She has interned in Costa Rica, studying legal protections for local flora and fauna, and in Nepal, working on women’s empowerment in climate action. Her PhD focuses on climate immobility in mountain regions affected by water scarcity.
