Biography

Bruce Glavovic is a Professor at Massey University, Aotearoa New Zealand. He has worked as a policy advisor, consultant planner, and academic in South Africa, the USA, and New Zealand. His research centres on how to make societal choices in turbulent times, with a focus on: Adapting to climate change; natural hazards planning; coastal governance; and collaborative planning and conflict transformation.

Biography

Valerie Kapos is Head of the Climate Change and Biodiversity Programme at the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre. The programme addresses the interactions between climate change and biodiversity, including the impacts of climate change and climate-related policies on biodiversity and ecosystem services, and the contribution of ecosystems to climate change mitigation and to societal adaptation to climate change. Valerie’s role includes overseeing the work of the programme’s team, and working with governments, collaborators and funders to develop new projects that meet their needs.

Dr. Rosenzweig is a Senior Research Scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and The Columbia Climate School, where she heads the Climate Impacts Group. She is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN) and Co-Chair of the WASP Science Committee.
