Associate Professor Yates, Architecture Director at AUT’s School of Future Environments, is director of He Puna-Ora, was programme leader (urban wellbeing research) of New Zealand’s Building Better Homes, Towns and Cities (2017-2024) and co-develops urban transition tools with iwi, NGOs, and councils. Her work focuses on ecological regeneration, renewable energy, circular bio-economies, and regenerative design.

Indigo Strudwicke is a PhD student with the UNESCO Chair in Science Communication for the Public Good, based at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. She previously worked as a policy analyst for the Australian Academy of Science, and was named a 2023 Westpac Future Leader Scholar to support her research on pathways for transformative futures in Australia.

In 2024, He earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies and became an Assistant professor, researching complex system design. He is implementing systems engineering and model-based decision-making to adaptation planning.
